by Susan Brewer Service First Real Estate

Memorial Day weekend is the unofficial beginning of summer in our area. To help you plan the fun, we have prepared a list of activities to help you kick off the season:

Eckert’s Memorial Day Festival

Enjoy outdoor festival foods and live entertainment at this old-fashioned all-American festival. Kid’s activities include pony rides, children’s play area, petting farm, carnival rides, and inflatable.

Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery is an impressive sight any day of the year, but even more so on Memorial Day. Each year, local boy scouts place small flags at each of the nearly 190,000 headstones on the cemetery grounds. There is also a special service at 10 a.m., in the cemetery chapel honoring all those who have served.
